Blogging is a great means of communication for businesses today. Effective blog posts can lead to solid, mutually beneficial relationships that can stand the test of time. Anyone who is of the opinion that blogging is becoming (or has become) obsolete is not seeing the reality of the power that blogging has in the business world today not to mention the instrumental role that blogs play in developing and maintaining relationships of value.
The power and influence of blogging
If blogging is done properly, it can be extraordinarily influential when it comes to attracting new readers (who subsequently turn into prospective clients at the very least). There is a clear connection between readers paying attention to what you are posting, interacting with you (and other people who are reading your articles), and eventually being excited about your offerings and branding and ultimately buying from you. If you have a steady but small number of people who are reading your blog regularly and you want to increase that number dramatically, there are ways that you can do that successfully.
Stay away from people with “too good to be true” offers
There are many people out there who say a lot of things that they don’t mean. Especially when it comes to making quick cash. You know that making instant money doesn’t happen to most of the people in the world. If someone approaches you (or advertises) with the idea that they will be able to help you to earn a lot of money quickly, run as far and as fast as you can. The chances are very great that it is a scam. The only person who will make money in that situation is the scammer! Making money takes time, hard work, and a lot of effort. If it were so easy, everyone would be doing it. When it comes to increasing the number of loyal readers that you have, it will require effort and time (as well as consistency and persistence) on your part. You will; however, start to see a positive change happening. It won’t happen overnight but it will happen.
Create incredible content
Your starting point must be the quality of your content. Not only must your content be well written and error-free but it must also be exciting, compelling, educational and valuable. It needs to give something to your readers and it needs to make them understand that you have the power to solve their problems. If your content isn’t up to par, people simply won’t read it. You have a few seconds to capture your reader’s attention with the title and teaser paragraph of your article but the rest of your content must be equally attractive if you want your reader to remain with you until the end. If you don’t feel that you can make the content work yourself, get other people to either help you write or write themselves. Your goal after your readers have read your content is for them to share it with other people whom they know and respect. Give people a chance to get to know you through your content. The more you let them in, the more willing they will be to share valuable pieces of themselves.
Promote your blog
Once you have posted your content, let as many people as possible know about it. You can communicate with people through LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter or any other social media channel that you feel works well for you and your business. You can also communicate about your content through the phone and in person. When you do communicate, make sure that you let people know why you have written the content that you wrote and the reasons for pushing it and for wanting to share it with them. Invite them to give you their opinions about what you have written. Hopefully, an exciting and animated discussion will ensue, which is an excellent way to strengthen your relationships with your readers.
Create a social circle
If you want to build a circle, your content will probably not be enough to accomplish it. Do your homework and find other blog articles that you can read and comment on and encourage other people to continue the discussion. It is an easy way to get people to engage and you can prove your knowledge through the comments that you leave. It is an excellent way in which to get others to know you better.
Use influencers and guest bloggers
Successful social media use has to do with people (as in more than one). Your social media success will come from interacting with others. Although you must adhere to what was discussed above when it comes to the quality of your writing, it may take more than just your writing to satisfy the needs of your readers. Guest bloggers can contribute a great deal to your success and people of influence can do the same.
Do whatever you can to go viral
Share as many top-quality blogs as you can on the topic of choice. Encourage people to comment on the blogs that you are sharing by offering some sort of incentive. People adore getting what they think of as free stuff. Hopefully, they will tell all of their connections about your content and they will want to be involved also.
You should constantly be trying to increase the number of people who read your blog. There are many different ways in which you can accomplish that. You should target the readers who you feel are most likely to share your content with others. You will learn who those people are through research of your readers. Another effective approach is to jump into communities that contain the people who you feel would be instrumental in your success. Make sure that you put an emotional factor into your communications. Human beings react to other human beings if, and only if, they are touched by what you are saying. You should show just enough vulnerability to make them want to continue interacting with you.
