The analogy “humanizes” those new concepts and makes their meaning and their implication much more familiar for your target audience. If you are able to draw a clear comparison, the audience members will be able to relate to what you are saying and to buy into the concepts.

Analogies help you to explain complicated ideas

An analogy is an excellent tool to use if you are trying to explain an idea that is not simple and straightforward. Comparing that idea to something familiar makes everything much easier. It also gives context to the other person. The beauty of a good analogy is that it doesn’t have to be exact as long as it makes a valid, clear comparison that is easily understood.
