Welcome to my website. My name is Daniel E. Sachs and I am both a professor of art history and a practicing
artist. This website is a showcase of my artwork.
Ever since I was old enough to hold a pencil in my hand, I have been drawing pictures of original characters, faces from history, and generally tapping
into my imagination for inspiration.
As a teenager during the 1960s and 1970s, I enjoyed drawing caricatures of political and historical figures with interesting faces. Later I branched out into
several fields of commercial and fine art and created compositions that included various themes from straight portraiture to fantasy art to landscapes and seascapes, and in several media including pen and ink,
pencil, watercolor, oil, and colored pencil.
Several samples of my work in both artistic realms are included on this website in The Art section. I am sure that you will be delighted by what you see. Most items are for sale.
