You need to write exciting and compelling content that captures their attention.

It doesn’t make any sense to spend a great deal of time on research, thought, and subsequently, writing your content if nobody but you actually reads it. In this day and age of technology, everyone is constantly being bombarded with vast amounts of content on every topic imaginable. So much content is being fed to people that they don’t know what to do with it on many occasions. If people read everything that came their way, they wouldn’t have time to do anything else in their professional or personal lives. With that concept in mind, it is very important that the content that you are writing and sharing with other people is so strong and compelling that it is constantly being kept at the top of the pile of important things to read.

A brilliant opening paragraph

The first thing that you need to consider is your opening paragraph. This paragraph is also called a teaser paragraph because it teases the reader just enough to want to continue reading. Remember, you only have three seconds to capture the attention of the reader enough for them to want to read on. So, you better make it really good. It is critical to your success as a content writer that you share content that is thought provoking and really grabs your readers. Considering that the first few sentences of your opening paragraph are the ones that will be picked up by the RSS feeds, they must really pop. When people scan an article, their eyes move across the page. That is why using bold type and bullet points or numbers is so effective. Once the reader’s eyes have moved across the page, they tend to look down the page as opposed to scanning subsequent lines horizontally.

Use emotion

Whatever your content is about, there must be an emotional element to it. People react with feelings. Knowing that, you need to make sure that you use keywords and key phrases that affect people emotionally. Whatever the reason other people have for taking an interest in your content, they definitely have a reason. Your main objective when it comes to relating to other people is to help them to solve their problems. If you can do that, you will not only be building meaningful, lasting relationships with them but you will also be gaining loyal clients at some point. If you use the most effective keywords and key phrases, there is a guarantee that you will touch your readers. It is also very important that you speak to your readers at a level that is comfortable for them. Don’t use big words merely because you feel that it makes you seem impressive. If you use words that they don’t understand, what good will it do for you? If you use simple, straightforward language and the concepts of what you are trying to say are ones that they can relate to, that is really the best approach to take.

WIIFM (What’s In It For Me)?

When other people read your content, they are spending the time to do that because they are looking for a solution to their problems. They aren’t interested in how great you and your business are. They aren’t even too interested in what you have accomplished so far (in your business or otherwise). All they need from you is to help them make their problems go away. If you are considering writing something that you think is interesting but that doesn’t really benefit them in any way, it isn’t worth writing. People want to learn from you and they want to be excited by what you are offering. If you want to maintain the relationship with them, give them something that they can walk away with. Strong relationships are ones where the two people trust each other and feel that the other is credible.

The presentation of your content

There are several different approaches that you can use when it comes to capturing the interest of your readers. You can write from the perspective of vulnerability. This will show your readers that you are human, just like them. At the same time, you should always come up with a moral (or solution) to your story. This is the educational part for them. If you taught them something the first time that they read your content, the chances are great that they will keep learning from you. It is definitely worth their while to check it out each time. However you choose to present your content, it needs to touch them in some way and they need to feel that their lives have improved in some way because of it.

Conclusion

With the amount of information that is available online today, everyone must be choosy when it comes to deciding what to read (and write). You must write content that is valuable, engaging, and educational, and magnetic. Your content should never be about what you can gain personally. It should always be about how you can help the other person to benefit. Their needs are what come first. Remember that if they benefit, you will benefit as well.

We are pleased to provide you with the insightful comments contained herein. You don’t want to force it on others. You want to earn their attention instead of demanding it. Earned attention is a building block of a sustainable relationship.

Earning versus demanding attention

The majority of people who are trying to share their information with other people inundate other people and don’t give any consideration to whether their recipients are actually interested in the information that is being sent to them. There is another approach that works much better in the long run and the positive results will be much more permanent. You can earn attention from people who you feel are valuable to you professionally and with whom you feel you can have a mutually beneficial relationship. A large volume of content, if shared respectfully and discretely, can really go far. On the other side, of course, you want to provide something valuable to the people with whom you are trying to cultivate a relationship. Once you have earned the attention of your chosen people, everything will fall into place.

There are several different ways in which to earn the right kind of attention through your content.

Intrigue: If your content is entertaining and humorous, people will be interested in it and it will stay with them for a long time. People love to be entertained. You definitely don’t want to share dry, boring content. Having entertaining content doesn’t mean that your content isn’t valuable. You should make it as interesting as possible for the people whom you want to read what you are writing.

Inspire: People react and connect emotionally to what they read if it has the ability to touch them. If you can’t touch them emotionally and inspire them in some way, you won’t succeed with your content. If you share thoughts and ideas that other people can connect with and can relate to, you will be able to get them to respond to you in a positive way and to start to build a relationship with you.

Teach: People love to learn new things all of the time. The more you are able to teach them, the happier they will be. When you sit down to write content that you gear in an educational direction, there are several ideas that you will want to consider incorporating into your articles. Your content should plainly state why you should and why you should not doing something in business, how you should do something, when you should do something, and what you should and should not do.

Sharing information: If you give other people information that they find useful and valuable, they will remember you for it and will truly appreciate the help that you have given them. When you share information, you are simply giving them a tool that they can use or not use, at their own discretion. that is different than teaching them something. In that case, you are giving them information and you are then showing them how to use the tool.

Treat controversy carefully: Controversy is not always bad. In fact, if you are smart, you can use it to your advantage in many cases. It is important, however, to choose which situations and issues are worth making a big deal out of and which ones are not. If you behave appropriately with the right people in a situation that is controversial, you may earn brownie points.

Conclusion

If you use the approach that has been discussed here and you make sure that your content focuses on some or all of those categories, you will succeed and people will interact with you and they will want to continue to read what you are writing and sharing. Make sure that you always keep the needs of the people whom you are trying to connect with in mind and gear your content to them. Most importantly, you want to get people to continue to come to you and to continue to interact with you.

We are pleased to provide you with the insightful comments contained herein. For a free assessment of your online presence, let's have coffee.

You might also like:

Earning Valuable Attention for Your Business

How to Play Nice Online

Getting Your Customers to Spread the Word

Earning Valuable Attention for Your Business

Branding

Business Relationships

Online Communication

Reputation Management

Social Media

Social Networking

business relationships

get your message across

There is a whole lot of online garbage that comes to you via the Internet. When you get garbage, your first inclination is to press the “delete” button ASAP. On the other side, you want your content to be valued.

You want your content to be read, cherished, and shared with others by others and by others. The issue is that people are in a position where they have to sift through a great deal of useless information in order to get to valuable and educational content, such as the content that you are sharing with them. They have to brush away all of the dirt before they get to the actual gem that is your content. Earning the undivided attention of other people is definitely no easy task. You really need to change your approach to getting attention. The old methods just don’t seem to be working as effectively as they used to work.

Earning attention from the right people

As is always the case, you will want to earn attention from the people with whom you can share a mutually beneficial relationship. When you change the dynamic and you earn the attention of others rather than demanding their attention, it completely changes the impression that other people get of you as well as improving the results that come from that new approach. The very first thing that you need to determine is connected to the marketing principle that is commonly uttered by many people nowadays and one that has truly been instrumental in building solid business relationships: WIIFM (What’s In It For Me?). In other words, your goal is to make sure that you are able to help the other person solve their problems. If each side has their needs satisfied, everyone will be happy.

There are several different ways in which you can earn attention from the content that you share.

Inspiration: If you can succeed at touching people emotionally, you will succeed at establishing a relationship with them, which will hopefully flourish for a very long time. At the heart of social media is the relationship. With that in mind, it is not surprising that emotional connections envelope relationships and they are the fuel that makes the relationships work. All human beings want the same thing. They want to feel good and they want that feeling to last indefinitely. A great way to capture the emotional element in writing is through testimonials from other people. Testimonials are generally charged by emotion. It is rare that you will read a testimonial that is so flat and dry that you don’t feel anything when you read it.

Education: Another great way to earn attention from other people is by educating them. When gearing your content in the educational direction, the elements of information that you may want to include are what to do and not do, when and when not to do it, why and why not to do it, and how to do it. Most people love to learn new things whenever possible. The more they learn, the smarter they feel. After all, who wouldn’t want to feel smart? Again, it is that emotional connection that causes people to respond. Feeling smart makes them feel good about themselves. It is a feeling that they hope will continue for a very long time.

Participation: In order to earn valuable attention, you must interact with others on a consistent and regular basis. People who don’t interact with others won’t get anywhere. Your success in business is all about your success with your relationships.

Entertainment: People love to be entertained as much as possible. If your content is dry and boring, people won’t pay attention to it and people won’t remember it afterward. If you make it interesting and touching in some way, its impact will go on for a very long time. You can certainly present content that is entertaining in a clever and effective way as opposed to being silly or fluffy.

Controversy: Controversy does not necessarily have to be a bad thing. One thing that is undeniable is that controversy earns lots of attention. Of course, when it comes to controversy, you need to exercise a great deal of discretion. Of course, you must gear your controversial contact to the people whose attention you are interested in earning. The topics must fit the needs of your audience.

Conclusion

If the content that you are sharing with others fits into one or more of the categories mentioned above, you are in good shape. The more categories that apply, the better. Attention is a very valuable and rare commodity and at times it can be difficult because you don’t control the amount of attention you earn, others do. Earning valuable attention from business associates who matter to you and your business and with whom you share a valuable connection will take you very far and you will find that this new approach will work extremely well.

We are pleased to provide you with the insightful comments contained herein. Many opened their own businesses and introduced themselves to other business owners.

One essential part of being an entrepreneur is networking with other professionals. One part of networking that you can count on is the elevator pitch. The elevator pitch is when you speak for a short time (30 seconds is common) to the other networkers to tell them what you do and what you need. The reason that it is called an elevator pitch is that it should take approximately as long as an elevator ride takes. The purpose for your networking is to establish connections with other people so that you can hopefully help each other professionally. The elevator pitch is a tease. In other words, you are enticing the other people just enough for them to be interested and to want to learn more about you and your business. The elevator pitch (or some form of it) must also be a part of your entire online presence. It should be included in every social media profile that you have online and on your website homepage. On your website, the concept must be there even if the wording is not identical to the verbal elevator pitch that you share with others when you are networking in person.

Changes over time

Elevator pitches are interesting. The elevator pitch that you use when you first start networking is most likely not the elevator pitch that you use subsequently. It changes all of the time. As you start to develop your business and experience new things and new people, your wants and needs will change as well. Your elevator pitch will be adjusted to fit the rest of it. Bear in mind that when you are giving your elevator pitch, people aren’t interested in the minutest details. They are interested in the bottom line and they want to know immediately how you and your business can help them to solve their problems. There are several elements that go into an effective and successful elevator pitch.

Humor

Entertainment

Very little or no technical details

Your elevator pitch assumes that your audience has an extremely short attention span

Your elevator pitch will help you to gain clarity

It puts you in a position of understanding the position of the person to whom you are presenting your pitch

If you incorporate those elements into your elevator pitch, you will capture the audience’s attention and you will succeed at keeping their attention. In addition to those elements that have already been mentioned, there is some additional information that you may find useful and effective in your elevator pitch.

An explanation why you are doing what you are doing (professionally)

Your elevator pitch captivates your audience

Your elevator makes you seem credible

Getting people interested in what you are doing

Your absolute first goal is to get people to be interested in what you are doing and what you are offering. If you can get them interested with that initial 30-second pitch, you can go into more detail at a later date. In fact, it is at the time when you share more details about your business that you will be able to distinguish yourself as a subject matter expert and the person who other people will go to when they have an issue or question that needs to be resolved. Elevator pitches may seem very easy but there is more to them than you might think. It is important to be well prepared before you walk into the room and you will be surprised at how much polishing is necessary before you actually get to the point of standing up and delivering your pitch.

Conclusion

Elevator pitches (whether you like them or not) are an extremely important part of your business. It is so important for you to be able to articulate what you do and how you can help other people through your offerings. Remember that your elevator pitch has nothing to do with actually selling anything directly. You will want to say something in your elevator pitch that stands out and that makes the members of your audience associate you with something that you said in those 30 seconds.

We are pleased to provide you with the insightful comments contained herein. However, it can also come from a marketing angle. Although your interactions with other people through social media are all about building relationships, ultimately, people will buy from you.

Nowadays, there are several different ways in which you can reach other people. Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter are three of the most popular social media channels. On Facebook, you can write as much as you like, although other people would probably prefer shorter (rather than longer) messages. LinkedIn has a lot of possibilities when it comes to sharing content as well. In this case, the relationships that are shared are business oriented. With Twitter, the messages must be short (140-character maximum). However, that doesn’t mean that they can’t have a subtle promotional spin to them. There are several effective approaches that you can take in order to write effective marketing content and tweets. Your success depends on not only using Twitter but also writing well. The quality and the precision of the writing should be quite specific.

The system that you use for this particular type of communication is social networking and shared messaging

Communication is your medium

The form of language is language itself

Your content should speak about branding and marketing

Your interaction is the call-to-action that you choose to give to the person with whom you are interacting

Promotional copy

Promotional copy is very different than it is when it is in print. The way to make promotional copy successful through social media is by sharing a great deal of it and sharing it very often. By doing that, you are doing several things at the same time. You are increasing your reputation. You are building your credibility. You are positioning yourself as a subject-matter expert (SME). And you are building your credibility and trustworthiness. These are all ingredients without which you have no chance at success. There is a viral element that comes with all of this. The more your word is spread by others, the more popular your ideas will be and the more people will pay attention to you. They will tell their friends, who will tell their friends, who will tell their friends, etc. The success of your business is very dependent on word of mouth. In that way, it differs greatly from other forms of promotion. With social media, you rely on other people’s willingness to engage with each other and their willingness to share your information with others.

Promotional copy and social media

Your content and tweets must reflect the way that people communicate and interact through social media. In this case, the relationship that you are trying to promote is between prospective clients and your brand. If you succeed at having people form those relationships, you will succeed at getting those people to buy what you are selling. Of course, social media is an extremely personal medium and the messages that you are giving to others uses the various social media channels as their vehicle. The delivery of the communication is direct and instantaneous. The way that you make your offerings appealing to other people is through words. You create images and ideas through your words.

Conclusion

Writing content and tweets that market your offerings will give you a great deal of mileage. You should think about it as an extended form of speech. The success of your content depends totally on how creative and how vivid you are able to make your ideas. You can design your content in whichever way you feel works as long as your promotion is subtle and in good taste. Just remember that above all, it needs to be informative, valuable, and educational. Most importantly, it needs to solve the problems of the people with whom you are interacting.

We are pleased to provide you with the insightful comments contained herein. It is a well-established fact that content is at the heart of your web presence. You need to write content and you need to share content with others easily.

You will only be successful when it comes to your web presence if you are able to successfully and easily share content with other people, who will, in turn, share it with other people, etc. If other people feel that your content is worth sharing but it turns out to be too difficult to send to others, they won’t bother a second time. The world today is extremely fast paced. Everyone wants instant gratification of all types.

If you expect people to talk about what you are offering, you need to make it really easy to do so. If it takes more than one (or two, at the most) steps to accomplish this, forget it. If, on the other hand, you have a social media button in plain view, people will be willing to click on it. If your web presence is built around blog software (such as WordPress, for example), there are some plugins that you will want to install. They are Facebook Share and TweetMeme Retweet Button. It will take you very little time to install and set them up.

Once the plugins are installed, you will be able to show the buttons on your posts and pages (wherever on the page you would like them to appear). They will also indicate how many times other people have shared your content with others as well as some other options. If you don’t use WordPress, it will be a little more challenging for you. You will have to install the codes for each of the social media channels on your website. If you don’t feel comfortable doing it yourself, you may have to consider hiring someone else to do it. You can get instructions from Facebook and Twitter. They are relatively simple to install.

Call-to-action

Remember that it is important to tell your readers what you want them to do. If you don’t tell them, they won’t understand and there will be no chance at interactions. You shouldn’t think that they won’t be willing to do what you ask of them. Most likely, they will be willing. If you want them to share your content, be as specific as possible. Choose to identify whichever social media channels you feel will be most effective and don’t be afraid to name them specifically.

Understanding your target audience

It goes without saying that you need to understand your target audience before you can do anything else. With that knowledge in hand, you can then build your web presence. Never forget the concept of WIIFM (What’s In It For Me). Part of truly understanding your target audience means that you are able to identify their problems and solve them. You need to have your audience in mind when you start to build your web presence. As you are building the content, if you have an understanding of the audience, you will know what to offer them. You will also be more knowledgeable about offering products and/or services that are of great interest to them and that they will be inclined to buy.

Always be as accessible as possible

Being accessible online means a lot of things. First of all, you need to have a simple and straightforward navigation system that doesn’t present any obstacles to the user. The last thing that you need is to put obstacles in the way of your visitors doing what you want them to do for you. You also want people to be able to find you online very easily. People want to engage with you. You just need to make it as easy as possible for them.

Conclusion

With such a wealth of competition and with so many people trying to make their mark in the online world, it is more important than ever for you to have as much of an edge as you can. So many aspects of social media are important in business today. Having your web presence be social media friendly will absolutely make people want to connect with you in a huge way. Ensuring that your web presence is such a simple thing to do and at the same time, it is pure genius!

We are pleased to provide you with the insightful comments contained herein. You share in order to help. Always avoid giving people the hard sell no matter what.

Your main objective for writing and syndicating content in your niche or industry is to provide other people with valuable, educational, and useful information. As you share more and more of your content, you start to build stronger and stronger relationships with the people in your online communities. You establish yourself as a subject matter expert (SME) and you keep strengthening your credibility and your reputation by interacting with others and consistently providing them with information that can help them to solve their problems. There is no other motive for you whatsoever. Nobody wants to be “sold.”

A right time and a wrong time

From a practical perspective, as a business owner, there will come a time, of course, when you will be selling your goods and/services. Just remember that your approach to selling your offerings to other people must be done in the most appropriate and unobtrusive manner possible. An appropriate place to connect your readers with what you are selling is at the bottom of your article in a resource box on your landing page. It is very important to remember that you shouldn’t consider selling anything until you feel that the relationship with the other person is strong enough to withstand it. The trust and credibility must have a very strong foundation before that point. Always remember to avoid (at all cost) allowing your content to sound like a commercial. If you don’t avoid this, you may suffer consequences in two very important ways: your readers may reject you and your articles may be turned down for publication. Most of the article directories have strict guidelines about what they will and won’t accept for publication. Self-promotion is a giant no-no!

There are several things that you must try to avoid when it comes to your content:

No name dropping: You should try to keep your content as generic as possible when discussing product brand names. It is ok to mention specifics in the resource box but it is not ok to mention specifics in the body of your article. You should use the article to give your readers helpful tips and tricks, and other pieces of information that you feel they will find valuable. If you provide them with useful information, they will keep coming back to you for more.

Avoid mentioning money: Anytime you mention a price in your content, you are automatically trying to sell what you have to other people. There is simply no place for it in the content that you are providing to others. That is what goes on an advertisement. Never use blatant sales text in your articles.

Not educating your customers: It is extremely important to communicate in as transparent a way as possible. This transparency should start at the very beginning of your relationship and follow through forever. The more honest and forthright you are with other people, the more they will respect and trust you. If you include this in the foundation of your relationship, it will take you very far.

Not being able to put yourself in other people’s shoes: If you are able to make other people understand that you are one of them and that you truly understand what they are going through and how they feel, they will relate to you on a human (and emotional) level. You should never give them the impression that you are different (or God forbid, above) them. First of all, it isn’t true and second of all, you won’t get anywhere with an attitude like that.

Conclusion

Your focus should always be on helping other people. If you put them first, you won’t run the risk of being misunderstood or coming across negatively. Your objective should be to continue to build credibility and knowledge and to continue to hold the position of being the person who others come to when they need answers. You should remember that you are selling something every time you interact with another person online. What you are selling is creative thought, valuable information, and compelling and exciting interactions.

We are pleased to provide you with the insightful comments contained herein. People use Email many times throughout their work day. Email gives people important information and enables everyone to progress in their work. What do you do when you send an Email and then you wait and wait.

When you do get an Email response (after waiting a really long time sometimes), is it succinct and relevant to what you need or is it long and completely useless? When that happens, there is a good possibility that you won’t be able to make any progress in your work until you get the response that you need.

It is possible that the way that you have worded your Email originally caused the response on the other side to be less than what you need. Your Email should never be phrased in a way that causes the reader to avoid answering you or ignoring what you are asking for. There are some ways in which you can avoid this issue and then you will get what you need from the person on the other end.

Give a deadline: All people are deadline driven and time oriented. When considering the deadline to give, you should go with the shortest amount of time possible (within reason). Human beings never respond well to long deadlines. If they see that a deadline is generous and they are not compelled to start working right away because they feel that they have more time, they will procrastinate until the end of the time period. Psychologically, they will think that they have all of the time in the world. If, on the other hand, you give them a short deadline, it will nag at them and they will address it much more quickly because they will want to get it out of the way as soon as possible. It is also a good idea to put the deadline in bold type so that stands out very well for them. It is an excellent idea to follow up halfway into the time period (for example, if you have given them a deadline of 2 weeks, follow up 1 week after you have sent out the original Email).

Short and sweet: The most effective Emails are the ones that are short and to the point. It is not a bad idea to use bullets for the important points that you want your recipient to pay attention to. If the Email is long, it won’t be read. If it isn’t read, you won’t get what you need. Your Emails should be short, to the point, and polite but firm. The tone of the Email is very important.

Tell them what you want: Something that is obvious but that people seldom do when writing an Email is actually ask for a response. It should be understood but it actually shouldn’t be taken for granted because there are too many times when it doesn’t occur to the recipient that he or she has an obligation to respond. Your Email subject line should clearly and concisely state what you need. The information in your subject line should address the needs of the recipient, not just your needs. If you are unsure if you have successfully conveyed what you need to convey clearly in your subject line, use the first paragraph for the same purpose.

Never put more than one recipient on your Email: If you need to send the same Email to several business associates, do it in separate Emails. If you have multiple recipients on the same Email, the recipients will not feel that they are as valued by you. You never want to give them that sort of impression. It is worth the effort of sending out however many duplicate Emails you need to because it is the correct and most appropriate way to behave. You will most likely get responses from the majority of the recipients.

Send as few Emails as possible: When communicating through Emails, try to really make the ones that you send count. If people receive several Emails from you throughout the day, they will be less likely to take you seriously (kind of like the boy who cried “wolf”). Then, when you finally send the Email that is important and that requires a response that matters, you won’t get it. Pick your Email “battles” carefully.

Conclusion

If you follow the tips that are suggested above, you will see that you will have greater success with your Email communications. Everyone is so busy throughout the day, the last thing that anyone wants is to waste time on Emails that don’t matter. Being considerate and discreet about how you are communicating through Email and how many you choose to send is critical to your relationship with the other person and you will see positive results. On the other side, if you are waiting more than 2 days for an Email response, the other person is not behaving appropriately. It is especially important if you have a product or service that is not as unique.

It usually takes some time before social media efforts start to pay off. It takes time, effort, and a lot of patience. It also takes guts. If you want your brand to become outrageously successful (and thus beat out the competition), it will probably not be enough to just quietly follow along your chosen business path. You will need to take your efforts to the next level and really push the boundaries of your social media marketing strategy. The absolute first thing that you have to do before you consider anything else is to make sure that you clearly understand why your brand and offerings are worth your customers’ time, attention, and extra money. There are several approaches that you can take to do this:

Provoke: On your journey to pushing the envelope, you should be sure to come up with subjects that other business owners are afraid to broach. Of course, you must remember to exercise some discretion; however, if your topics are titillating, unconventional, and exciting, other people will take a great deal of interest in you and your business and will want to learn more and more about you. The best that you can hope for is that your content goes viral. The more exciting your content, the more people will take an interest in it. Your goal is to offer your target audience content that they will not be able to find anywhere else. People love hot topics. Not only should you offer provocative content but you also need to make sure that the content enhances your brand and gets people to want to be involved with it.

Go slow: The best way to create buzz for your product is to make sure that you maintain an air of mystery (even if it is just a little) at all times. You will be successful if you hold back to some extent. Never give it all away at once. If you give everything away at once, what will there be for people to anticipate and look forward to? The anticipation is half of the excitement.

Connect with people directly: If you are trying to establish your brand in a really big way through social media channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter, your approach must be proactive. You need to connect with people directly and consistently. You can’t just sit at your desk in your office and expect that everyone and everything that you want will come to you. You need to go out and start to establish relationships and you need to connect with people on a very human level. If; however, your brand has already been established, you will have an easier time convincing people to take an interest in what you are offering. You should bear that in mind when you are considering how much is involved (time and effort) when it comes to cultivating and establishing those business relationships. You need to try and identify the top influencers in your niche or industry. Those people will prove to be absolutely critical to the success of your business.

Follow your competitors closely: If you follow your competitors closely, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to do everything that they do when it comes to your marketing strategy. However, if you feel that you are not having a tremendous amount of success with your business, it is even more important to study what your competitors are doing and do your best to outdo them. By all means, try your best to out-perform your competition at every possible opportunity. It is critical that you worry about how your business is doing as a result of your online efforts and it is equally critical that you keep a close watch on what other competitive businesses are doing also.

Conclusion

Common sense tells you that if what you are offering is the same as what everyone else is offering, you won’t have much of a chance of success. The only way to obtain an edge is to give your offerings a new and exciting spin, a spin that only you offer. You need to make sure that your story is really unique and that people are able to relate to it emotionally. It is also a really good idea to keep your communication approach as simple and honest as possible. If you can succeed at doing all of that, you will become successful beyond your wildest dreams.

We are pleased to provide you with the insightful comments contained herein. Fewer understand if their website is actually effective. Having it assessed to answer that question is an excellent idea. It is important to be prepared for the assessment with intuitive and effective questions.

Every website is a little different than the next one. They are all unique because the objective for each one is slightly different. The quality of the website must be as high as possible in order to win over the competition. With the volume being so great, yours really must stand out and be remembered by others so that they return to you over and over again. If you don’t achieve that, you won’t be able to generate the traffic that you need in order to bring more leads, customers and business. It is never enough merely to have your website built. Once it exists, you must be meticulous and consistent about having it maintained so that the quality constantly lives up to your standards.

Before you have your website assessed, there are a number of different features that will be looked at. The questions that you begin to ask should bring you valuable and accurate information so that the assessment is most effective.

Is it easy to navigate your website?

Is your website aesthetically pleasing to others?

Is your website useful to other people?

Do you have top-quality content on your website?

Do your web pages load very quickly?

Is your content appropriate for your target audience?

Can your visitors contact the administrators of your website if they wish to do so?

Do all areas of your website function properly and effectively?

Will your website hold up against competition online?

Does your website show up in the top of the search engine results page (SERP)?

Does your website adhere to World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) guidelines?

What is the conversion rate for your website?

Which code is being used when building the website?

You need to think about your website as a business tool. When you are building your strategy, It is just as important to massage, cultivate, and grow your website as it is to cultivate the rest of your strategy. Always remember what a tremendous asset it is and will be for your business. It is a critical part of what you are trying to accomplish professionally.

Conclusion

If any of the answers that were given to any of the questions above were not satisfactory, there is work to be done on your website. The first step is your assessment, which should be done by a person who performs website assessments for a living. The assessment should turn up problem areas before any recommendations can be made. Several tools will probably be used to make the assessment. The tools should include Google Analytics (or some other analytics tool) as well as other online assessment tools. The more effective the assessment, the stronger your website. The stronger your website, the better your chances of increasing your business.

We are pleased to provide you with the insightful comments contained herein.
