					This is an informative post! I might also add that 80 to 90% of your fans interact with your page from their personal news feed, not your business page. They may have never even been to your page if they clicked a Like button on your website or other digital channel.
					
					So to make Timelines effective you have to drive people to your page on a regular basis. You can do that of course with contests. Other methods include really working the Facebook apps for video, images, company news, etc. Create a microsite of Facebook and provide some things people won&#039;t find anywhere else - or at least announce them first on Facebook so people know they can get the early scoop there. Maybe you just got a prestige line of boutique guitar pedals for the store. Create some videos, upload to YouTube but put them on Facebook and send people to the Facebook page.
					
					For example, I have a client that does wonderful specials for public radio on energy awareness. (Sorry not an M.I. example.) They created this really nice video on how batteries work. I created an instance of an app on Facebook that just highlights the video and put this link in all the marketing channels and messages. People can come to watch the video and Like the page all in the Facebook app. These app services are inexpensive and really do work. Check out the example:
