I think it's important to look at content & frequency together. LinkedIn once or twice a week, once where you share something ... and once where you give back, i.e. by answering a question.
Facebook if used for business, should be once or twice a day, and once in a while something personal ... as I'm getting frustrated with Twitter activity cluttering things up & wondering how do I talk to the offending parties.
Twitter actually is best if you tweet 2-4 good messages, 4 times each by scheduling them for different times of the day. Rule of thumb is to share info 4 good info, i.e. links, out of 5 tweets ... and the 5th for you to promote your stuff.

Nice article. I may disagree with you on some points however. I think FaceBook could be treated more like you have explained Twitter - on your personal profile. On a business or group Page I think it should be treated more akin to your explanation of LinkedIn. In all cases, professionalism and tact applies. The internet will expose you at some point, on purpose or by accident. Whatever you post, where ever you post it, make sure it won't ruin your personal or online reputation.
Thanks for sharing!
