Now that you have been in business for a while and everything is going well, it is time to go to the next phase. It is time to step us the technology and create and post videos for your business.

Getting your business contacts to go from reactive to proactive

For a long time, it was totally acceptable for your online connections (clients as well as prospective clients) to get to know you and your business and for you to get to know them and their needs and wants. That was phase 1. Now, it is time to launch phase 2. In phase 2, you need to really entice your online connections and get them to stop being casual observers and spring into action. Of course, they won’t know what is expected of them if you don’t communicate what you want them to do so that is exactly what you are going to do. You are going to provide them with a call to action and you will tell them what you would like them to do to deepen the interaction between you. You can continue to share your written content with them, which contains a written call-to-action or you can go to the next level and communicate your call to action through your video blog.

Creating video blogs that persuade your target audience to engage

When it comes to communicating online, it is critical that you understand what works and what doesn’t work for your business. First of all, it is very important that you understand why video blogs are so important for your business and for your marketing efforts. First of all, videos are a very effective communication tool. Your video doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, it can be simple, short, and it can say what it needs to say in an efficient manner. One of the most wonderful things about a video blog is that it can be used in several different contexts simultaneously and the results will be effective. Once you have created your video blog and you are ready to post it, you should consider posting it on YouTube as well as other social media channels.

The right strategy

Of course, the equipment that you use to create your video must be high quality and it must do what you need it to do. However, that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t worry about your strategy as well. In fact, you need to consider the strategy before you consider anything else. Without an effective, well-written strategy, you won’t have anything else and you won’t be able to achieve success for your business. As you are planning your video blog strategy, you need to make sure that the following elements are contained therein. The video blog must:

  • Grab the viewers’ attention: This is where you will introduce yourself and your business. You will also communicate what you are going to discuss in the video here. You only have a few seconds in which to grab your viewer’s attention and you need to deliver quickly on those seconds. You will also want to tell your viewers exactly what you are going to do for them and exactly how they will be better off for having interacted with you. In other words, this is exactly where you will be communicating “WIIFM” (What’s In It For Me).

  • Have a strong and compelling introduction: This is where you will tell your viewing audience about your brand and your business. You will be building credibility, trustworthiness and the perception of expertise. At the same time, you will be holding the attention of your viewer so that they don’t want to be doing anything else but watching your video. You don’t need a great deal of time to accomplish this; however, you do need to be extremely effective in your communication.

  • Have incredible content: The content is at the heart of your communication’s success. Your job here is to teach what you know to your viewers. Part of the teaching is to convey why what you know (and are subsequently imparting to them) is important. Once you have sold them on that part, the next thing that you need to do is to convince them of how much better off they will be if they choose to run with you. It is critical for you to provide some sort of call-to-action once you have provided them with the content.

  • Have an amazing summation: At this point, you are ready to thank your viewers and to thank them for spending the time to watch your video blog. At this point, you sign off and end the video. If you have done that correctly, you will reap the benefits later on.

Conclusion

Providing our viewers with a video blog is essential for the success of your business. It is very important that you recognize it as such and that you do everything in your power to get the most out of such a powerful and persuasive online marketing tool.

It is very important to keep in mind that your video blogs must be as concise as you can possibly make them. Your viewers won’t have any patience for a rambling video that keeps going on and on. You need to capture the essence of the video quickly and extremely effectively. The one way in which your video blog and your written content don’t differ is in the fact that you still need to communicate clearly that you have a solution for the problems that your online connections are experiencing. You have the power to create top-quality video content and a small effort will go a long way.
