Social media technology is changing on a regular basis and as it changes and new tools are being offered, it is important that you do your best to keep up and to take advantage of what is being offered to you.

The many different ways to go

There are so many different approaches that you can take to attract more followers to your LinkedIn business page. The right combination will work wonders and you will need to figure out exactly what that is for you and your business. There is an assumption here that you already have an established LinkedIn business page.

Ask for what you want: In many cases in business (and in life), if you don’t ask for something, you won’t get it. In many cases, as long as you ask them politely to follow your business on LinkedIn, they will oblige you. The first thing that you should do is to share your LinkedIn business page with your entire online network of first connections. You can couch your request by communicating how excited you are about  your new LinkedIn page and ask your connections to follow you. You can also convey to them that it will only take a few seconds if they click on your link. Another great approach is to share your LinkedIn business page link when you share an update.

Remember to include your staff: As important (and essential) your online connections are to your business, the people who work for you are equally important. It is important to realize that you can’t do everything successfully. You need to focus on where you will be the most effective in your business. In all likelihood, that means that you should concentrate on working with prospects and maintaining relationships with your clients. That leaves your business’s social media efforts. Someone has to do them and they have to do them well. You can lean on your staff to help with social media for your business. Your staff has the potential to make a huge difference in your business’s social media efforts. Your staff can sent personalized messages through social media to your network and your online connections will react (in most cases, in a positive manner). You can’t do it all but at the same time, you can’t afford to let anything slip either. Your staff is ready, willing, and able to help.

Do a lot of valuable sharing: Hopefully, you have profiles on the most appropriate and effective social media channels and you are experiencing positive interactions from other people online. It is critical that you share your LinkedIn business page on all of your social media channels so that you reach everyone with whom you are connected. Anyone and everyone should be asked to follow your LinkedIn business page. Definitely don’t be shy about this. The more people who are involved, the better your online exposure will be. Of course, that means that your business will become even more successful.  People love to interact. Give them that opportunity.

Put share buttons on your webpages: You want to make it as easy as possible to give people access to  your content and having a share button on your webpages will make it extremely easy for people to gain access to what you want them to see. You should try to do that as soon as possible. The more other people like your content, the more willing they will be to share it with other people they know. That is exactly how you will expand your network and increase your reach.

Return the favor: It is important to remember that social media is successful because you are interacting on a human level. You want people to follow you on LinkedIn and other social media channels. Well, guess what? They want the same thing from you and you have an obligation to give it to them. The more you are willing to give them, the more they will be willing to give you in return.

Put your LinkedIn page URL on your Email signature:  Still in the same vein with making it as easy as possible on your online connections, putting your LinkedIn page URL will make it extremely easy for other people to access your LinkedIn page. Once you have added it to your signature, it will automatically come up with the link included.

Contribute a blog post: An interesting way to get people interested in your LinkedIn business page is by writing about LinkedIn. People generally love to read about LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc, because the social media channels are a regular part of their lives and the more tricks and tips they can learn, the easier their experience will be. They will definitely find a way to thank you for that. Once you have done that, you can use LinkedIn’s publishing tools to share your content.

Always offer top-quality content: There will always be people who are with you for a while and others who remain loyal followers indefinitely. Many people appreciate content that is well written, compelling, and valuable. It is your responsibility to give it to them. Additionally, you should constantly be thinking about offering fresh content on an extremely regular basis. Another thing that you should think about it gathering feedback from your online connections. If you have ever seen the common question “How is my driving?” on the back of certain trucks, the concept is similar. If you solicit feedback, it is almost a guarantee that the feedback will be valuable to your business and that you can use it to improve upon what you already have.

Pay attention to analytics: Paying attention to analytics is critical to the success of your business. You won’t necessarily need to invest money in gathering analytics. What you will need to do; however, is invest time and effort into gathering data for your business. It will be well worth your time. You can gather analytics on your text and visual content. It is an extremely valuable and telling part of your business.

Conclusion

LinkedIn is an extremely valuable part of your business and your LinkedIn business page is not only important as a page but it is also very important going forward and it will be a valuable part of taking your business to the next level. If your page needs work, make the effort to get it to the point where it is what you want it to be for your business. If you have a page that you feel is exactly what it should be, it is time to promote it so that you gain top-quality, numerous followers. When you are in the promoting phase, you should promote it widely and thoroughly.
