Dramatically Increasing Your Blog Visitors

Blogging is an extremely effective way of getting your word out online. Blogs teach new things and compel readers to read and leave comments on the content. They also share what they have read. It’s time to increase your readers.

Blogging is a great means of communication for businesses today. Effective blog posts can lead to solid, mutually beneficial relationships that can stand the test of time. Anyone who is of the opinion that blogging is becoming (or has become) obsolete is not seeing the reality of the power that blogging has in the business world today not to mention the instrumental role that blogs play in developing and maintaining relationships of value.

The power and influence of blogging

If blogging is done properly, it can be extraordinarily influential when it comes to attracting new readers (who subsequently turn into prospective clients at the very least). There is a clear connection between readers paying attention to what you are posting, interacting with you (and other people who are reading your articles), and eventually being excited about your offerings and branding and ultimately buying from you. If you have a steady but small number of people who are reading your blog regularly and you want to increase that number dramatically, there are ways that you can do that successfully.

Stay away from people with “too good to be true” offers

There are many people out there who say a lot of things that they don’t mean. Especially when it comes to making quick cash. You know that making instant money doesn’t happen to most of the people in the world. If someone approaches you (or advertises) with the idea that they will be able to help you to earn a lot of money quickly, run as far and as fast as you can. The chances are very great that it is a scam. The only person who will make money in that situation is the scammer! Making money takes time,  hard work, and a lot of effort. If it were so easy, everyone would be doing it. When it comes to increasing the number of loyal readers that you have, it will require effort and time (as well as consistency and persistence) on your part. You will; however, start to see a positive change happening. It won’t happen overnight but it will happen.

Create incredible content

Your starting point must be the quality of your content. Not only must your content be well written and error-free but it must also be exciting, compelling, educational and valuable. It needs to give something to your readers and it needs to make them understand that you have the power to solve their problems. If your content isn’t up to par, people simply won’t read it. You have a few seconds to capture your reader’s attention with the title and teaser paragraph of your article but the rest of your content must be equally attractive if you want your reader to remain with you until the end. If you don’t feel that you can make the content work yourself, get other people to either help you write or write themselves. Your goal after your readers have read your content is for them to share it with other people whom they know and respect. Give people a chance to get to know you through your content. The more you let them in, the more willing they will be to share valuable pieces of themselves.

Promote your blog

Once you have posted your content, let as many people as possible know about it. You can communicate with people through LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter or any other social media channel that you feel works well for you and your business. You can also communicate about your content through the phone and in person. When you do communicate, make sure that you let people know why you have written the content that you wrote and the reasons for pushing it and for wanting to share it with them. Invite them to give you their opinions about what you have written. Hopefully, an exciting and animated discussion will ensue, which is an excellent way to strengthen your relationships with your readers.

Create a social circle

If you want to build a circle, your content will probably not be enough to accomplish it. Do your homework and find other blog articles that you can read and comment on and encourage other people to continue the discussion. It is an easy way to get people to engage and you can prove your knowledge through the comments that you leave. It is an excellent way in which to get others to know you better.

Use influencers and guest bloggers

Successful social media use has to do with people (as in more than one). Your social media success will come from interacting with others. Although you must adhere to what was discussed above when it comes to the quality of your writing, it may take more than just your writing to satisfy the needs of your readers. Guest bloggers can contribute a great deal to your success and people of influence can do the same.

Do whatever you can to go viral

Share as many top-quality blogs as you can on the topic of choice. Encourage people to comment on the blogs that you are sharing by offering some sort of incentive. People adore getting what they think of as free stuff. Hopefully, they will tell all of their connections about your content and they will want to be involved also.

Conclusion

You should constantly be trying to increase the number of people who read your blog. There are many different ways in which you can accomplish that. You should target the readers who you feel are most likely to share your content with others. You will learn who those people are through research of your readers. Another effective approach is to jump into communities that contain the people who you feel would be instrumental in your success. Make sure that you put an emotional factor into your communications. Human beings react to other human beings if, and only if, they are touched by what you are saying. You should show just enough vulnerability to make them want to continue interacting with you.

    One of the most important things to do when you have a blog is to keep it interactive.  If a follower comments on your blog, respond to them.  The more you interact with your followers, the more likely they are to recommend your blog to their friends.

    In my blog I tell about Internet Marketing being a hard job.  I never say "You'll Make Loads of Money"  by signing up in anything.  You definately do not make loads of money, unless you are scamming someone out of their life savings.  It takes rtime to build up a relatively large income doing it the right way.  I've been at it for about 3 years now.  I do not make enough online to quit my regular job.  My income has increased some, because I tell the truth.  A lot of people are looking for get rich quick schemes, but there are none.  It takes work.   Maybe in another year I will make enough online to work at home only.  That's my goal anyway.  Great article.  I hope I didn't stray too far from the main subject.

    Great article! I believe this is the single most important line item in blogging. If your blog, blog titles, and blog topics are not interesting, then your blog will become stagnant, phasing out in context. Most new bloggers lack the understanding that although their content is good, if they do not have the necessary networks to support the information, then it is almost pointless to have an excellent blog. The information needs something to actively flow on.

    I agree with all the suggestions in this article. I’ve been blogging for six years and will post my 700th article in a few days. My “Professionally Speaking” blog (focused on public speaking, speechwriting and a mix of anything else related to communications that catches my eye) has many thousands of readers each month (or so Google Analytics tells me) and has resulted in a number of new clients from around the world hiring me. BUT it took over two years to get traction. If I had used some of the tips in this article it would have been up to speed sooner. The best thing about blogs: content never dies. Google hits on content I posted four or more years ago attracts as many readers as fresh content. My single most popular article is found when you Google “a rhetorical analysis of Obama’s inaugural address”.

    Your point of using guest bloggers is a good one. I am also partnering with really good bloggers–ones with higher numbers than mine–to host contests. I’m doing a giveaway today. I usually don’t do giveaways to readers. Most of my contests benefit animal shelters. So, I pulled in other bloggers to judge the contest, got the sponsor to mention them on Twitter, FB, Pinterest, and other sites. And everyone is happy, and all of our numbers go up.

    Blogging alone isn’t enough you have to share it socially through the strategic use of plugins that allow Facebook, Twitter, G+ and Pinterest as avenues for sharing. You can use guest bloggers but also hire outside writers to fill gaps for reasonable sums if needed (I haven’t so far but am considering it.)
