Positioning your brand is critical before you do anything else. Everything else will follow after that.

Your first step

Laying the groundwork is extremely important for your business. Of course, your business branding is of the utmost importance. The more prepared you are and the stronger your branding is, the more effectively you will be viewed by your clients and prospective clients. When you first start to build relationships and a reputation, you credibility doesn’t yet exist in the eyes of other people. Both credibility and trust are two qualities that must be earned. It is very important to understand that trust and credibility have nothing at all to do with selling directly. In fact, you will need to build trust and credibility before you can sell anything to anyone.

Content creation

Once you have been able to successfully build meaningful relationships with people, your next step is “putting your money where your mouth is.” In other words, you will need to create content to back up what you have claimed about yourself and your business. The whole point of establishing your reputation as an expert is to be able to solve other people’s problems. You should go by the marketing principle “WIIFM” (What’s In It For Me). If you can prove to your online connections that you have enough knowledge and expertise to solve their problems and to teach them new things that they didn’t even know existed, you will succeed at getting them to regard you as an expert. If they regard you as an expert, they will want to build that relationship with you and will become loyal to you as well. When it comes to the response that you will get from your online connections if the quality is top notch, you will see that your connections are more than happy to share your content with other people whom they know and trust. With the sophistication of technology today, it is very easy for content marketers to publish content that will leave no doubt about your level of credibility and expertise.

There are many different places that you can publish and share your content so that it falls into the correct hands:

Blogs: A blog is an excellent place to share your content marketing materials. One of the wonderful features of a blog is the comments feature. People can read your blog and can make comments or pose questions so that an animated discussion comes out of it. This will give you a great deal of mileage and you may get additional topics on which to write and to continue to solidify your credibility.

Whitepaper: A whitepaper is a great place to publish your content. You can really establish your credibility and continue to strengthen your reputation as an expert in your niche or industry.

Video: A video is another excellent expression of content marketing materials. Many people are visual and your ideas will come across to those people much more effectively through a video than with words on a page.

Making sure that people can find your content

It is critical that you make your content easy to be found. At the same time, it is equally important that your content contains clear messages and communicates exactly what you can do for other people and what you can teach them. Most people love to learn new things as much as possible. However, it is also important for you to give your online connections a sensible amount of content and not too much. Too much content will cause them to absorb none of it.

Conclusion

Building credibility and trust with your online connections is not difficult as long as you are patient, persistent, and you continue to put their needs above your own needs. Of course, it goes without saying that you also need to know what you are talking about. It is important to always consider what your online connections want first. Express to them that you will give them the benefit of all that you know and that they will be better for having learned from your experience. If you are able to do that, you will build credibility and they will be loyal to you and your business for a very long time.

Your landing page on your website is critical to the success of your business. With technology at its current height of sophistication, considering QR codes in the design is critical to you.

The purpose of your landing page

The purpose of your landing page is to attract people and get your visitors to eventually be converted to people who will buy from you. With that in mind, it is important to understand that if not you don’t relate appropriately to your visitors, you may very well end up not being able to convert those visitors into leads at any point. Once a person lands on your landing page, he or she is no longer considered “cold.” Once this happens, you are both on your way to establishing a relationship together. As far as your business is concerned, you are able to prequalify them at this point and you can rightly assume that they possess some interest (although you don’t yet know how much) in what you are offering and what you represent.

The design quality of your landing page

It is critical that you understand that your landing page must be of the highest quality possible. Whether you choose to design the page (and your entire website) yourself or you choose to hire a professional designer to design it, the result has to be the same. There are certain elements that you need people to experience when they arrive at your landing page and that is why it is so important for you to make sure that you landing page contains everything that you need to have in there. Your website and landing page need to “speak” to your visitors in a way that they will never forget.

Each landing page is unique

There are several possible places from where your visitors can possibly arrive. All that is important is that they did arrive on your landing page as opposed to someone else’s. The visitors could possibly have clicked on a link in an Email that they received or a link in an advertisement. Another possible (and extremely popular) source is a QR code. You see them all over the place nowadays. The visitors who come to your landing page by way of a QR code are unique. If they arrived in this manner, they got to you through their mobile device. This should give you some sense of the landing page design that you should consider using.

The call-to-action is essential

One of your primary purposes when it comes to your landing page is that you want your visitors to do something that will result in some sort of interaction with you. Your call to action should be short and sweet and the language that you use should be very clear. The last thing that you need to do is to lose your visitors before you have even had a chance to interact with them and work your magic on converting them to clients eventually. You need to give them some sort of incentive right away. The incentive can be in a possibility of many different forms. You can offer them some sort of discount to whatever you are selling or you can offer them valuable, educational information in the form of a newsletter (which you will want to encourage them to sign up for so that they can receive it regularly) or a white paper (from which they can learn a great deal). It is up to you to offer them what you feel would be the most appropriate. Make sure that when you ask them to do something in your call-to-action, you make it clear what they will get and what you want from them. Sneakiness won’t work and nobody will appreciate it. You really need them to opt in because their data is extremely important to them.

Your content

Once your visitors have visited your landing page and have decided to stick around for a little while, you have a responsibility to make it worthwhile. You should be able to lure them with the quality of your content. Your content should be well-written, exciting, informative and, most importantly, it should communicate clearly exactly how you are going to be able to solve their problem(s). If you can’t do that, your visitors won’t stick around long enough for anything at all. As far as making your content exciting and fulfilling is concerned, there are several types of content that you can share on your landing page. Your landing page can contain testimonials, videos and some still photographs of what you can do for them (by providing amazing products and/or services).

Your look and feel

The look and feel of your landing page is extremely important to the success of your business. It is what makes people pay attention to what you are doing and what you are offering. Color and lettering are both extremely important what it comes to attracting your visitors. If your content and your design are difficult to read or the come across in a negative way, it won’t do your business any good. Your landing page really needs to be effective for you and it needs to work for you as efficiently as possible.

Interacting with your mobile device effectively

Making sure that the visitors mobile device works effectively when it comes to the design of the QR code landing page is critical. QR codes are very important to your success. You have the potential of getting a very large volume of visitors through QR codes and you need to make sure that everything works effectively and gives you the best possible results. When it comes to the design, there are several factors that should be considered. Placement of the QR code, how visible it is, has load time been minimized as much as possible and how easily the QR code works to the person’s manual dexterity are all important factors to keep in mind.

Conclusion

Having a landing page that is usable, functional, and gives the visitor what they need very quickly and succinctly is critical to you and your business. People won’t have the patience to wait for your page to churn and eventually load for them. The electronic equipment that people rely on nowadays is very sophisticated and your website needs to match that sophistication. QR codes will bring your visitors to you quickly and efficiently and it is important that you provide them with the best technology that you can so that you are able to interact as easily as possible.

Twitter continues to be a strong social media contender. Facebook and LinkedIn are still extremely strong and they are constantly introducing new features. However, so is Twitter and people should try to find new and improved ways to connect.

The perception of Twitter

You may still believe that Twitter is a fun, little social media channel that enables you to tell people about what you had for breakfast or which movie you saw over the weekend. However, it is so much more valuable than that for your business. It is a really good idea for you to take a look at how you are using Twitter as well as examining the people on Twitter who follow you and whom you follow. When it comes to your Twitter relationships, it is important to examine the quality of your list of people. Your Twitter relationships may be very lucrative but may possibly take some scrutiny. Not only should you eliminate relationships that no longer work for you but you should also connect with people with whom you feel you can share a mutually beneficial relationship.

The many wonderful benefits of Twitter

Twitter is an extremely effective social media channel for being educated, listening and sharing information. It is also a wonderful way to have real-time discussions that can turn into more. Comments back and forth can turn into relationships that turn your Twitter followers into clients eventually. However, it is advisable to choose quality over quantity when it comes to collecting followers. It all really depends on how you intend to use Twitter and what you wish to get out of it. You will hopefully find that the Twitter followers with whom you connect will be professionally beneficial to you and your business. The reason that Twitter is so successful is because you and other people take the time to use it. Interaction is key to your business’s success in all of its forms among all of the different social media channels. Many of the social media channels work differently but there is one objective that they all have in common. They all thrive on interaction and communication. As is always the case, you will get out of Twitter whatever you put into it.

You have it so use it

Creating relationships with Twitter followers is, in many ways, the same as creating relationships face to face. Many people created their profile on Twitter because they heard that it was a good thing to do. However, after they established the profile, they didn’t really do much with it after that. Many people don’t understand how useful it is when it comes to getting your message out there and really building something valuable with other people. When it comes to letting the world in on your offerings, Twitter is a great way to do it. It is not only important for you to get to know other people online but it is also very important for them to get to know you.

Your approach

You may be asking yourself at this point how you can go about strengthening your Twitter relationships. There are several tips for this. First of all, make sure that your tweets are consistent, regular, and frequent. Timeliness is also critical. If someone asks you a question or leaves an important comment that deserves a response, you have a responsibility to give one and to do it relatively quickly. In the beginning of becoming heavily involved with Twitter, you may want things to happen more quickly than they are happening. Patience is definitely a virtue in this situation. You should also make sure that your tweets are going to the most appropriate people and that your communications are always polite and respectful. Make sure to tweet in the most effective manner possible and if you share compelling information, you will be sure to get positive responses.

Conclusion

People share relationships on many different social media channels; however, the relationships that they share on Twitter are unique and must be handled and nurtured in a way that respects that uniqueness. Twitter is still an extremely important social media channel for business. You have an obligation to treat it as seriously as you can and to make sure that you get everything out of it that you want.

With social media’s impact on people today, both in business as well as on a personal level, it is extremely important for the social components of social media to be fully incorporated into the Email marketing campaigns of businesses today.

There is a tremendous amount of relevancy in business today and there are parts of a branding strategy that can be enhanced tremendously by connecting the social aspect to the communication strategy. For businesses that make the most use out of both the social media and Email communications, the end result and the measure of what they will be able to accomplish can potentially be astronomical. It is critical to think in terms of providing social capability to communication strategies.

Taking a look at a business’s Email strategy

You need to examine your Email strategy so that you can identify issues, if there are any, such as inconsistencies in the social aspect of your campaign and whether it is being used effectively. Your objective should not be to make sure that the social aspect connects with the communication aspect. That should already be a given. Your goal should be to ensure that effective sharing of your content and strong communication are actually successfully happening.

There are several different ways in which the social and the communicative can come together.

Engagement with the audience is key: It is important to look at your brand and identify if your pages provide a button at the bottom to allow the audience to connect with social media. If your connection offerings are done in this manner, the potential for your audience to engage with you and your brand will be quite limited.

Using a call-to-action: The call-to-action is an effective way to get your audience to communicate with you through social media. If they are at the point of reaching out to you after you have provided them with compelling and valuable information and then have given them a great way to connect with you, you will be on your way to building a relationship with them. The call-to-action is effective because you are very specific about what you want your audience to do in order to connect with you and your business. You are most likely going to achieve better results than you would if you gave them too many broad choices with which to connect with you.

Providing content that has immediate social capabilities: There are ways that you can share your content directly and then, in turn, receive instantaneous responses from your audience. You can also share the content of your Email, which can then be shared by your audience members.

Communications that focus on the social aspect: Some businesses have set up their communications capabilities so that they have a strong connection to their social media connections. In such a case, the business owner should make sure to communicate what the audience can gain by engaging directly with the business on the social channel(s). One of the very positive results of this is that the audience can absorb many different types of information through the various social media channels. This will give them much more exposure and acquaintanceship with the brand and the company. A positive, effective aspect for the business owner is that he or she can actually gather statistics that will tell which brands and which social media channels are drawing the attention of the particular audience member.

Social relevance: The brand’s social relevance is a critical factor for the business owner. Once you have gotten your audience to opt-in to whatever you want them to choose, you will start to notice the benefits of that connection. It is a way to communicate deeply with your audience and it will really strengthen your relationship and bring you to the next level.

Conclusion

Email marketing campaigns are extremely important to the success of your business. When they are linked to social media strategies, you have a winning combination that is unbeatable. It is important that you do everything possible to build lasting, meaningful, relevant relationships that will stand the test of time and that will be of mutual benefit for a very long time. An Email campaign and a social media marketing strategy are both effective on their own; however, they are much more powerful when they join forces. The two together will allow you to gather information that is valuable to your business in the most effective way possible.

Now is the time to plan for the future. You need to make sure that you have a strategy in place so that you don’t have a gap in your work and in your progress going forward.

Putting a strategic plan in place

It is critical that you are as organized as you can possibly be when planning (or revising) your strategy to work in the future. When considering how you want do approach your online activities, you first need to reflect on what you did in the past so that you can identify what worked and what didn’t work. After you have established those concepts, you can devise your strategic plan so that it will really yield amazing results that catapults you to the next level in your business.

Looking at your list of clients and prospective clients

An important part of your examining what you were able to accomplish in the past and how you can improve upon that, you will need to take a good, hard look at your clients and prospective clients. Just as you examined your online business strategy, you also need to examine your clients (who they are, what they do professionally, the quality of your relationship with them, whether your relationship is still mutually beneficial) and figure out if they are still worthy of being your clients. If any of them don’t “make the grade,” you should eliminate them as clients so that you are in a position of taking on new clients. Otherwise, you are wasting your valuable time and theirs. If you feel, for any reason, that you can no longer help your clients, you should cut them loose.

Identify the mistakes that you made in the past

It is critical to your business that you identify mistakes that you have made in the past so that you avoid making the same mistakes over again. You certainly want to avoid spinning your wheels. A good approach to this has to do with the way that you decide to take on specific clients. You should have a specific qualification process in place before you go after any new business. An effective starting point for you a list of questions that you customize to each prospective client. This will also work with existing clients who you feel you want to retain. Life and business is never stagnant. Something is always changing. Your approach to your clients needs to keep up with the evolution. It is important to have a clear idea of everything that you wish to communicate to your clients and prospective clients, including pricing structure and your payment expectations of your clients, what you can offer, level of customer service, etc.

Establish your criteria for either continuing with existing clients or accepting new ones

It is very important for you to communicate clearly what you will and will not accept from your clients. This is very important before you start the year off. Everyone should have a solid idea of how your business dealings are going to go. Surprises are not a good thing in a business situation.

Make the most of your social media activities for your business

As sophisticated as you thought online technologies were in the past, they are going to be even more sophisticated now and in the future. It is critical to the success of your business that you make the most out of what is available to you and your business. Social media is a very powerful tool for business. Make sure that you educate yourself about all that it has to offer and use it appropriately and effectively. If you expect to rise above your competition, you will have to get very involved with social media for your business. If you are concerned about the cost, you needn’t be. Social media activities don’t necessarily have to cost must. Of course, you will need to commit to spending a certain amount of time and effort on your social media activities but you will see that the payback is well worth it. If you find that you are spending too much of your time on your social media activities and you really need to concentrate on other things, you can get someone else to manage the social media portion of your business. Please remember that the worst thing that you can do is to ignore social media entirely.

Build a content strategy

Content truly is king. If you don’t have top-quality, exciting, compelling and valuable content to share online, you won’t get anywhere. You have a responsibility to share fresh content on a regular basis. At least, if you have a desire to achieve greater and greater business success you do. Having old, static content just won’t do it for you. People are definitely going to pay attention to your online presence. You need to make sure that they are not disappointed by what they find. You strategy should include:

Frequent blogging

Frequent article publication and syndication

Larger publication offerings (white paper, Ebook, newsletter)

Strong marketing strategy

Consistent and frequent updates to your website

Content curation

Content recycling

Search engine optimization

Social sharing of your content

Multimedia content

Conclusion

With the future right around the corner, it is very important for you to have everything aligned and in order before you do anything. You certainly have all of the tools to make your business a raging success. Now, all you have to do is follow your business plan and your online marketing strategy. It will serve your business well and you will enjoy tremendous success. Think about all that you want to accomplish and go after it.

By now, you must realize how critical social media is to your business. It helps you to establish credibility, position yourself as a subject matter expert, appear trustworthy to others and come to be regarded as a person of influence.

Hopefully, you are making the most of social media for your business and leveraging all that you can from what social media has to offer. It doesn’t matter whether your business is large or small. It is absolutely critical that you monitor what is being said about your business by others. This applies to your clients, perspective clients and competition. You are definitely not in a silo and what other people think and feel about your business will make or break you.

People will always talk

Once you have decided to monitor what people are saying online, you need to translate that into how it will affect your business. It is very important for you to not only understand that people are speaking about you but also to know exactly what they are saying about you, your brand and your business. Being noticed for your professional accomplishments is extremely positive and extremely important. The reason that it is positive is that you can take what people are saying and use those words in your interactions and discussions online. Even if some of the feedback that you are receiving is conceivably negative, the fact remains that you and your business are being noticed by other people. The worst thing is if nobody is even aware of your existence. You can take the discussions about you and your business and use them to elevate your brand and your offerings. You will need to find out exactly who is talking about you and track what they are saying and where they are saying it.

What are people saying about you?

You have decided that you want to closely watch what others are saying about you and your business. You need to ask yourself exactly what you are trying to accomplish by capturing that information. Basically, you should be concerned with reading everything that is being said about your brand and your offerings. You must stay abreast of every social community with which you are connected. The possible ways that you and your business/brand may be mentioned are:

Your content being shared on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn

Tweets that discuss your brand

Your brand being mentioned on other people’s blogs and/or websites

People pinning your content on Pinterest

Backlinks to your website on other people’s blogs

It is very important to understand that it is not sufficient to just have social media profiles on the various social media channels. You also need to monitor the various social networks and capture what is being said. If you are not certain of how to monitor the various social media channels, the following should help:

Receiving alerts

If you set up Google Alerts (or another comparable alert tool), you can easily watch your social media presence throughout cyberspace. You will receive updates on a regular basis either through your Email or through an RSS (Real Simple Search) feed. Depending on how you set it up, you will receive alerts in whichever frequency you have chosen. There are several different approaches that you can use regarding which types of information you want to receive.

Searches on specific social networks

When you go to each individual network, you can search for your brand and you can get a good idea about what people are saying. You can search on Twitter, which will let you set up criteria so that you receive exactly the information that you need. You can also search on LinkedIn. You may want to consider the Answers feature in LinkedIn (in Advanced mode). This will allow you to track down all mentions that relate to your niche or industry. Facebook, of course, is another valuable social media channel that will give you a great deal of mileage.

Designating the most important monitoring

Everyone has equal rights when it comes to social media. However, it is safe to say that not everyone has the same influence or the same effect on other people. The stronger and more prevalent your communication skills, the stronger your influence online. There are several ways to determine influence; you should ask the following questions.

How many online connections do you have?

How many times have people retweeted your content?

How many comments have people written about your content?

How many backlinks lead back to your blog?

How often do people interact with you?

You need to recognize the human side

It is critical that you realize that anyone with whom you connect online is a human being with human emotions. You need to engage other people and you will begin to build your relationship, which will hopefully eventually be an enduring one. There are several different ways to engage other people, such as asking a question, responding to one of their comments, offer a solution to one (or more) of their problems or give them some sort of incentive.

Conclusion

If you understand how to monitor your brand through social media and you understand why it is so important to do so on a consistent basis, you will be one step ahead of the game. You can’t make any positive changes to your business if you aren’t aware of any of the issues. Even if some of the feedback that you receive is negative, it is important to face it honestly and do your best to make improvements based on that information, which will prove valuable to you in most or all cases. Social media monitoring will ultimately improve your bottom line. It will provide you with insights that you would not be able to acquire elsewhere.

However, if you have any doubt, there are several good reasons to stick with social media for your business. If you don’t, you will regret the outcome.

A possibly lingering doubt

You may be a business person who is totally confident about why you are involved with social media for your business. On the other hand, you may be a business person who is either no longer sure about why you are involved with social media for your business or a person who is not as sure as you once were when it comes to social media involvement for your business. In fact, you may be asking some of these questions:

What value are you actually getting from social media?

Do you really feel that your social media marketing strategy is working for your business?

Do you see the return on investment (ROI) that you expected to see at this point?

Can you actually measure your return on investment successfully?

How is generating great-quality content actually going to help you to achieve success?

Should you handle your social media activities in-house or hire someone outside of your company to handle it?

The truth about social media

Before you decide that you may step away from social media, there are several things that require your close consideration.

This is no fly-by-night operation: Social media has been present for a very long time and will continue to have a strong presence in the online business world. It will be an important player in the business world for a very long time. It is absolutely here to stay.

Think in terms of forever: There is so much impact that social media can have when it comes to your business. It can bring people together in a profound way that nothing else can match. Over the next several years, massive networks of people will be established and this can have wildly positive implications for your business.

There are several important reasons to stay close to social media:

People need people

There is absolutely no doubt that as a business person, you need other people to help you to succeed. Without other people, you will be in a silo and no one can help you. In fact, the more people you have, the more successful you will be. You want to rise, head and shoulders above the rest. The only way that you will be able to do that is by building strong, enduring relationships that carry you and your business for a very long time.

Evolution

Things are constantly changing. That means that you have to change with the times. Where you are in your business now is not necessarily where you are going to be in a year from now. Your involvement with social media allows you to get your message across quickly and to a large number of people all at once. That means that your ability to sell your products and/or services will be greatly heightened.

The importance of customer service

Customer service is more important than it ever was before. Customers have much higher expectations than they used to have and if customer service doesn’t come through, those customers will turn around and go to someone else in the blink of an eye. Timeliness is critical to your success as well. If customers don’t get a response right away, it may be the kiss of death for your business. The days when people accepted mediocre treatment are definitely over.

Conclusion

Social media is here to stay. It is only becoming stronger and stronger and with each passing day, new and innovative tools are being introduced. It is important to take advantage of all that you can so that you stay ahead of the curve and leave you competition in the dust. Your business, as well as everyone else’s business, is becoming more and more social. Social media can help you to interact very effectively. You will have to spend time and effort and very little money. The effort that you do spend on it will pay off and you will see that it is well worth it in the long run.

Everyone knows that links are extremely important for your web presence and the success of your business. However, there are links and there are links. Some links are not good quality and won’t help you. Others will help a lot.

The importance of the quality of the link

There are a large number of links on the Internet that are not of the highest quality. You can buy cheap links, if you desire to do so. There are several different people and places that have links for sale. Of course, if you buy links from a questionable source, there is certainly no guarantee that your links will do what you want them to do. If they don’t, you are putting your success on the line.

What is an authority link?

If you are buying cheap links, they are not authority links. You may be asking where you can get authority links and what they are. First of all, you need to go to an authority site. Authority sites are not difficult to find. However, you can’t always count on their being the top sites in the search engines. In fact, sometimes, you won’t even find them on the first page of the search results. It depends on the niche. One of the issues is that, after a search, many people automatically choose whatever appears at the top of the page and that is not always the best choice. It is very important to consider the source before you choose the first item at the top of the page. The same concept applies to authority sites. They are sites that can be trusted as credible and true. However, placement in the search engines is not good enough in the credibility department. Authority sites generally get a lot of attention once people have caught on to them because of their credibility. You can trust the information that you obtain from those sites.

How to identify an authority site

In the past, you could safely rely on the top listings in the search engines being authority sites. However, that is less often the case now. Nowadays, it is much harder to identify authority sites easily. Because the data are read differently now, it often causes the search engines to push inferior websites to the top of the list and thus pushes higher-quality (authority) websites to appear further down in the rankings. If you are a person who relies heavily on analytics software to tell you about the quality of your results, those results may be skewed.

It is important for you to understand that you have to work harder to determine quality websites than you ever did before. A lot of the trust has gone out the window with the tidal wave of information that is available. When it comes to the number of people on social media channels and the number of connections that those people have, you know that it is often not about quality. It is about quantity instead. That completely dilutes the quality. If you were to ask any of those people with absurdly large numbers of connections, it is a safe bet that those people don’t know a large percentage of those connections or even have much in common with them (professionally).

Different kinds of authority sites

Formal societies

There are several different types of authority sites. In most cases, the searches that people use are not simple. They often consist of many facets and levels of searching. Consequently, the results that are obtained are often sophisticated and extremely valuable. Searching through social media channels is a great way to go because you obtain results quickly and easily in most cases.

If you are used to producing and syndicating a large volume of content, you are probably well aware of who your influencers are. Some authority sites for connecting with your influencers are chambers of commerce, large organizations with a large number of members, large, prestigious societies, etc. If you feel comfortable with it, it is probably worth the time and financial investment to connect with these people. The benefits far outweigh the risks in general.

News websites

Well-known, high-integrity websites are generally considered authority sites. You can trust those. Sites like BBC, CNN, Huffington Post and other newspapers are excellent choices. The next step is getting the people in charge of those sites to accept you and to submit content to them for publication. Of course, it goes without saying that your content must be top notch.

Conclusion

Now that you understand what an authority site is, the question is how you obtain those links. The first thing that you can do is to ask. In a lot of cases, if you ask, you will get. You can make requests of this type through Emails. Of course, that is not the only way to obtain those links. Another way is by creating really exciting content and then promoting it. Finally, you can take links from websites that your influencers use. This is a backdoor approach but it is often effective in any case. As important as links are to the success of your business, it is critical that you are discriminating about which ones you choose. After all, it is your business’s reputation on the line. If you get involved with authority websites, you will be developing good quality relationships with influencers and your relationships will be mutually beneficial.

Your brand has existed for quite a while at this point but it isn’t as successful as you would like it to be. It is time to really make it buzz and make it stand out among all competitors.

A lasting impression

If you think about all of the brands out there, you will notice that some brands leave more of a lasting impression on you than others do. The reasons that those particular brands stand out is because they have something unique and memorable and that is exactly what you need to accomplish with your brand. Of course, that is a lot easier said than done at times. You need to be creative and innovative as well as constantly presenting fresh content that will make people want to be connected to you and your business. Additionally, you need to do a good bit of research to learn what your competition is doing and to have a deep understanding of best practices, which are constantly changing. Your brand needs to be compelling to other people so that they will be attracted to your business and begin to interact with you.

If you are a marketer, getting your brand to stand out is probably second nature to you. However, if you don’t have a marketing background, it will be a little more challenging to present your brand in a way that really makes it buzz. There are several different ways to approach it.

Understand your goals from the beginning: It is critical that you understand why you are doing whatever you are doing for your brand from the beginning. It is very important to have a plan and execute it as you go. If you just go along without any understanding of where you want to end up, you may not get there.

Understand your target audience well: It is essential that you understand the wants and needs of your audience. When it comes to the relationship with your target audience, you need to be able to solve their problems. If you are able to accomplish that, you will turn them into loyal customers eventually.

Recognize your own value: From the inception of your business, it is very important that you understand what you are able to bring to your audience, clients, prospects, etc. What do you give to them that is unique? Are you fulfilling all of their needs or only part of them? These are important questions to answer and the answers will give you a deeper understanding of your online connections as well as giving you a deeper understanding of how to satisfy them.

Drive your brand home: Not only do you need to understand every aspect of your brand but you also need to be able to share your knowledge with other people. That also goes for everyone with whom you work. You can’t explain anything to anyone else if you don’t understand it yourself. You need to live and breathe your brand. You need to be your brand.

Marry your marketing and social media goals: When you are looking at the social media channels on which you are active, you need to make sure that those particular channels fit in with your online marketing plan. If they don’t fit in, you need to eliminate them and choose new channels that you think will be more effective for your business.

Always be consistent: Your activity through social media for your business is critical to the success of your business. To really make that happen, you need to be consistent in your efforts and persistent in communicating. You will need to post fresh content on a very regular basis each week and make sure that you start to build loyal followers who will want to see more and more of what you are sharing.

Connect with your audience emotionally: You won’t have any chance of building relationships if you don’t connect with them on an emotional level. That is how relationships are formed and how they are maintained. As you get to know your audience members, you will start to understand how they feel and what makes them happy (and unhappy).

Make your audience understand the importance of their opinions: Everyone likes to feel important. It is extremely important that you make your audience understand that you value their opinions and that without them, you couldn’t become successful.

Keep on trying: No matter what, even if it seems difficult, don’t ever stop trying to improve upon what you have and what you are offering. Your brand is an investment that will pay off. Your efforts will pay off eventually. There is no question about it and you will certainly be glad that you were persistent when you look back on it.

Conclusion

If you follow the logical steps outlined here, you will bring your brand and your business to the next level. A lot of what has been discussed is common sense and you very well may be doing a lot of what has been discussed. Remember that you should only do what makes sense for your business. You will need to customize your efforts to meet the needs of your business and your clients. Remember that your brand is an extension of you as a business person and it must truly reflect what you believe.

How you express the words makes all the difference to your business. Additionally, you need to consider how your web pages relate to your entire strategy and how to leverage it to its full potential.

The Trinity

When you are building your web pages, you need to consider three different groups of people.

Your website visitors

The search engines

Your business

You should bear in mind that it can be challenging to effectively address all three groups successfully. A great way to accomplish this is by making sure that your web pages say exactly what you want them to say and in the way that you want them to say it. Also, your web pages need to clearly convey the level of skill that you bring to the table. With your competition being as fierce as it is, the quality of your content needs to really be up to par. With that in mind, it is critical nowadays to make sure that your web pages are of the highest quality possible.

Web content with visitor perspective in mind

There are some questions that you should ask yourself before you make any decisions regarding your web page content. If you were the person reading the content in your web pages,

Would you find the information in the web page believable?

Do you have a sense that the article is written by someone who really understands the subject matter well or is the content superficial?

Does the website’s content repeat itself or is all content fresh, original and unique?

Do you feel that you could trust the business with your proprietary information (such as credit card, social security number, etc)?

Are there errors in the content (grammatical, factual, stylistic)?

Are the topics that are being presented motivated by the business owners or do they truly subscribe to the WIIFM (What’s In It For Me?) philosophy? In other words, are the topics in place to help the audience or to help the business owners?

Are the topics educational and informative?

Is the content valuable compared with other web pages?

Is the business (and its owner) considered a subject matter expert?

Does the content tell a compelling story?

Is the content thought-provoking?

Is the language in the content natural or does it seem forced?

High-quality content from the search engine’s perspective

Once you have gotten the answers to those questions, you are ready to advance to the next step. During the next step, which is planning the content process, you will have to get involved with a lot of research so that you can determine exactly what goes into a top-performing web page. You will need to figure out the reason for the existence of your web pages, choose the most effective keywords for those pages and identify your objectives. It is critical that you have a strategy and a structure before you actually start to write the content. In this phase, you need to make sure that you wrap your mind around your business and that you wrap your mind around your visitor and what they want and need.

Regarding keyword searches are concerned, you need to make sure that the results of your keyword searches make this happen. Your keywords need to work effectively for your visitors. They will be the ones to put in the keyword as they are searching for what you do.

Your business perspective

In this phase, you need to make some decisions that will drive your business going forward. First of all, you need to decide if your web pages are about information and education or about buying. Your content will be driven differently, depending on the outcome of that decision. It is an excellent idea to ask your customers what they think your web pages are about and if they are spot on or if they miss the mark. While you are at it, you need to check out which keywords your competition is using. It is important to keep on top of the competition at all times.

Developing the content for your web pages

You should establish from the beginning how much content you want to put into your web pages. You need to ask yourself what you are trying to accomplish with that particular web page. If you are trying to overtly sell something, your content should reflect that. If that is the case, the language should be direct, clear and concise. On the other hand, if your web pages are intended to educate people, the language should have more details and explore the topic at greater length.

Conclusion

When it comes to the marketability of your web pages, it is very important to focus from that direction from the beginning. It is critical that the people who read your content clearly understand what you stand for and how you can help them, whether from a selling or an educating perspective. If you use this approach, you will begin to see that it will work for you and your business. Your customers need to believe that they will be better off if they interact with you.
